About the Artist
I was born in the 1950's and raised Catholic. The art and icons in the churches at that time have inspired the expressions of sorrow and hope on the faces of my pieces.
I've always had an appreciation for art but didn't start creating it with a passion until after my daughter was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome, a genetic condition which causes autism. Along with this diagnosis came pain and heartache beyond measure.
In an attempt to find purpose and meaning besides being caretaker to my daughter, I took a cloth doll making class at a local college. It was here that I discovered my creative soul. After trying out several different mediums, I realized clay brought me a sense of serenity.
